Meet PSA at UTD!
Mehndi Ki Raat (Nov 15th)
The Pakistani Student Association’s Mehndi ki Raat brings the joy and excitement of a traditional Pakistani wedding celebration right to the UTD campus; minus the actual wedding! This colorful night captures the true essence of Pakistani festivities with lively dance performances, live BBQ, vibrant décor, traditional rickshaws, photo booths, coffee carts, and much more! The event recreates the warmth and rhythm of a real mehndi, offering students a chance to experience the cultural energy that defines Pakistani weddings. As one of PSA’s biggest and most anticipated events of the year, Mock Mehndi unites students through music, dance, and celebration; creating unforgettable memories and showcasing the beauty of Pakistani heritage in a lively, inclusive atmosphere.
Dolki Night (Nov 9th)
PSA’s Dolki Night is an all-girls event inspired by the traditional Pakistani pre-wedding celebration where women gather to sing, dance, and play the dhol in joyful anticipation of the upcoming wedding festivities. This vibrant night at UTD brings that same energy to campus, filled with rhythmic beats, folk songs, colorful décor, and delicious Pakistani food. Whether you’re joining for the music, dancing, or community environment, Dolki Night promises an unforgettable evening of celebration and connection.
Drama Club (Biweekly)
The Drama Club, organized by the Pakistani Student Association (PSA) at UTD, offers students a bi-weekly opportunity to explore the intricacies of the Urdu language through the medium of Pakistani dramas. Through engaging activities like vocabulary building and conversational practice, participants, whether beginners or advanced learners, immerse themselves in Pakistani culture. Led by knowledgeable facilitators, the workshop offers not only language skills but also a deeper understanding of Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage.
Biryani Night (Oct 4th)
The Pakistani Student Association’s Biryani Night brings students together to enjoy authentic Pakistani cuisine and good company. Centered around Pakistan’s most iconic dish, this event includes flavorful plates of biryani, lively music, poetry performances, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for meeting new friends and experiencing a taste of Pakistan’s rich culinary heritage. Whether you’re trying biryani for the first time or missing the flavors of home, this night is all about warmth, togetherness, and celebrating culture through food.

-Our Initiatives-
Big Howdy
PSA partners with Big Howdy to welcome new and international students by assisting with airport pick-ups, hosting engaging activities, and creating opportunities for cultural exchange to help students feel at home at UTD.
Helping Hands
PSA partners with Helping Hands regional offices to donate and sort gently used clothing and shoes for shipment to underserved communities, including Pakistan, and support global efforts to meet basic needs.
Water Well
PSA partnered with the NEAD Foundation to fund and build clean-water wells in underserved Pakistani communities, including villages in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
